Bee Lutz has tended their own herd since 2019​,​ starting with five wild-spirited yearling does and a good handful of hubris. Bee found their way to goats and grazing by way of vegetable farming​,​ working in restaurants before that​,​ and a reverence for the natural world cultivated by the likes of Steve Irwin when growing up in the suburbs. Encouraged by ancestral tradition of the Swedish fäbod and Czech pastoralism as well as the traditions of the many Native peoples who have tended the Saint Croix River Valley and beyond​,​ we seek to reunite herds with landscapes and the humans that tend them. For too long landscapes and humans have gone without the very necessary influence of ruminant animals; their impact is ecological​,​ communal​,​ and cultural.
