After retiring from the Air Force as a survival specialist​,​ my wife and I took a huge leap and bought a 14-acre farm in Southern Maryland. What we quickly learned was that years of chemical and implement driven farming had stripped the land of nutrients and critical structure. We committed then and there to practices that would only bolster the land​,​ not strip it back​,​ and that idea became the core tenet in our farm and goat-grazing ventures.
